FCC (Adams), LLC
Mark Settlemyre’s presentation of 2011 Business of the Year to FCC (Adams), LLC at the Berne Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner held on January 17, 2012. Swiss Village Auditorium played host to approximately 80 guests. The following are the words spoken by Mark Settlemyre during the presentation.
“It is my pleasure to introduce the Berne Chamber Business of the Year Award to FCC (Adams), LLC. This is a very large international company with 22 factories in nine different countries and Berne was successful in convincing FCC (Adams), LLC to locate their 91,360 Square Foot manufacturing facility on a 40 acre property on the East edge of Berne in 2003…
Principle Products at that time:
• Automotive Clutch Components Parts
• Automotive Clutch Assembly
• Associates: May 2005 – 37 with an Annual Payroll of $1.8 million
• Total investment: $30.3 million
In 2007 and 2010 FCC (Adams), LLC expanded their capacity:
• 2007- Die Cast Expansion: 21,388 square feet (now total square feet 112,638)
• Associates in November of 2007: 53
• 2010 – Warehouse Expansion of 35,290 square feet (now total square feet 147,928)
• Associates in September 2010: 139
In 2011 they again expanded the Die Cast portion of their production facility.
• 2011- Die Cast expansion – 57,000 square feet (now total square feet 204,928)
• Associates: August 2011, 170
• Associates: December 2011, 185 with an annual payroll of $6.6 million
• Total investment to date: $81.5 million
What a success story during the worst economy in the last 80 years. What would Berne look like if FCC (Adams), LLC had not decided to make Berne their home?
They have invested $81.5 million in a new building and equipment in a short eight years. They are not putting $6.6 million in annual wages back into Adams and surrounding counties. Because of this great company everyone in Berne has a better standard of living either directly or indirectly.
FCC (Adams), LLC is also a first class supplier to the automotive industry as shown by the awards they have received:
• 2007 Ford Silver Award
• 2007 World Excellence Awards granted to FCC (Adams),LLC
• 2010 Recognition of Achievement for Durability & Reliability
• 2010 Ford ABF Nomination (Aligned Business Framework) supplier by Ford Motor Company as a long term strategic supplier
• 2010 World Excellence Recognition of Achievement for the development and launch of the 2010 Super Duty 6 Speed Transmission Clutch Assembly.
These awards explain why FCC (Adams), LLC is growing and why Berne can be proud to have them as a member of industrial base and an important member of our community.
As Chairman of the Berne Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, might I say this is true economic development and now is we can only get some of their suppliers to move to Berne we can all be winners.
