Chamber Annual Dinner - January 17, 2012

The Berne Chamber of Commerce is holding its Annual Dinner on Tuesday January 17 at the Swiss Village Auditorium.  The evening will begin with Social Time and Hors d'oeuvres at 6pm with the meal at 6:30 and followed by awards.  This year the Chamber is pleased to present FCC (Adams) LLC with 2011 Business of the Year and Delbert and Irene Sprunger with Lifetime Achievement Award. 
The Berne Chamber of Commerce is privileged to announce FCC (Adams) LLC as the 2011 Business of the Year and Delbert Sprunger Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously.
Delbert Sprunger served the Berne Community in a variety of forms.  He served his country in the Navy during World War II. Along with his wife Irene, Delbert owned Musik Haus in Berne and was well known for his ability to tune pianos.  He also served his community as former president of Mennonite Choral Society, former chairman Swiss Days Committee, committee chair for Boy Scout troop, former president of high school music boosters, member of the South Adams Arts Council, and former president and executive manger of Berne Chamber of Commerce.  During his time with the Chamber Delbert was instrumental in moving the Chamber forward with gaining its own office presence in the community.  He along with his wife Irene moved the operations of the Chamber out of their basement into the Hendricks Street location, thus beginning a new chapter in the Chamber’s history.
FCC (Adams) LLC, will receive the 2011 Business of the Year Award.  FCC established in Berne in May 2003 at 936 East Parr Road.  Their principle productions are automotive clutch components parts and automotive clutch assembly.  They began mass production in May 2005 with 37 employees.  In 2007 they completed a Die Cast expansion project and increased their workforce to 53 employees.  Again in 2010 they expanded their warehouse and added 86 jobs to Berne.  Now in 2011 they have grown again.  FCC, (Adams) LLC, has expanded the factory as well as the parking lot to accommodate the nearly 45 new positions created.  The initial manufacturing facility measured 91,250 square feet in 2003 now grown to 204,928 square feet with the 2011 expansion.  FCC has also received several awards for their commitment produce quality products:  2007 Ford Silver Award, 2010 Recognition of Achievement Durability and Reliability, 2010 Ford Aligned Business Framework (ABF) nominated supplier by Ford Motor Company as a long term strategic supplier, World Excellence Recognition of Achievement for the development and launch of the 2010 Super Duty 6 speed transmission Clutch Assembly.
FCC (Adams) LLC, and the life of Delbert Sprunger will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner on January 17, 2012 at Swiss Village Auditorium beginning at 6 pm.  The dinner is open to all Chamber members and cost is $20/person.  Contact the Chamber to make your reservation, 589-8080 or email sheree_chamber@bernein.com
