Berne Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Posted on Wednesday, July 18, 2012

On Monday July 16, 2012 our community was struck with sadness as a native son was killed in action.  Nick Taylor, son of Chief Tim Taylor was killed in a roadside attack in Afghanistan.  The Chamber is asking the Berne community to support Chief Taylor and his family through prayer and other displays of support.  Yellow ribbons remind us of those who are serving our country in all areas of the world and may be accompanied by a black ribbon for a fallen soldier.  Adams County is lowering all flags to half mass in honor of Nick Taylor.  Flags that are affixed on poles can have black streamers tied to the top of the spear.  The Chamber will have yellow ribbons and black ribbons available Thursday after noon.  We encourage our community to show your support in your personal way as well, such as signs in windows or streamers.  For additional information please contact the Chamber at 589-8080.
