Congratulation Berne Planning Center, owner Randy Beer on being selected June’s Member of the Month for the Berne Chamber of Commerce. Randy Beer began his business in October of 1975. Randy Beer and Janice Waugh, Assistant, offer services of weekly payroll services, tax preparation, and financial planning to individuals and businesses.
Berne Planning Center called north Jefferson Street home for many years. Then in 2011 Randy purchased the old Schindler Electric building just the west of the newly renovated Boys & Girls Club of Adams County- South Adams Unit. The building had stood empty for some time but was rich in history and character. Randy began the long six month project of renovating the building in his “spare” time. In February of 2012 he and Janice packed up boxes and moved into their new home in the heart of tax season.
Today the building is beautifully complete with a refurbished tin ceiling, hardwood floors and character showing through in a brick wall uncovered during the facelift. There are new walls, fresh paint, and few studs showing but Randy and Janice seem to be enjoying their new location very much. Although the business has a new address the quality of services is not changed.
When asked “What is your favorite part of your work?” Randy’s reply is quick “The people. I love working with the people. I love coming to work every day.”
Berne Planning Center is not located at 113 E Main Street and their mailing address PO Box 190 and the office is open Monday through Friday 9a.m. to 5p.m. and can be reached at 260-589-2193.
